Leslie McMurtry is a Senior Lecturer in Radio Studies at the University of Salford. Her work on audio drama has been published in the Journal of Popular Culture, Palgrave Communications, and the Journal of Radio & Audio Media, and she has been interviewed by The Atlantic online and The Independent.
Her monograph "Revolution in the Echo Chamber: Audio Drama Past, Present, and Future" was published in 2019.
Particular areas of interest are podcasts; Gothic/horror audio drama; transmedia and adaptation studies; empirical experiments on imagery generation through aural drama; cultures of production and gender; film/television sound.
I also write about fan studies (particularly Doctor Who and fanzines); Gothic horror; Victorian literature/culture; and the American Revolution.
